Engrace
A new kind of diamond brand built around three words.
Little Switzerland has been the Caribbean's leading luxury jeweler for over sixty years. When they decided to launch Engrace, an exclusive lab-grown diamond brand, grown, cut, polished, set, and retailed entirely in-house, they didn't need help making a great product. They needed a brand that could explain it. Lab-grown diamonds were still a category most consumers didn't fully understand, and the brands already in the space were either chasing eco-wellness positioning or underselling the quality of what they made. Engrace needed to say something different, clearly and confidently, from the very first word.
01 — The brief
A genuinely new thing needs a genuinely distinct voice
The lab-grown diamond category had a credibility problem. Consumers associated “lab-grown” with lesser, a compromise, not a choice. Most brands were fighting that perception through education-heavy copy or sustainability claims that felt more defensive than confident. Neither felt right for a brand backed by one of the Caribbean’s most trusted luxury retailers and the only company in the world that controls the full diamond journey from growth to retail.
The brief was to build a brand that didn’t explain itself away. One that opened with confidence rather than qualification. Before any visual work began, WHQ established the positioning and brand ethos that would anchor everything: three uniques, luxurious, brilliant, innovative, and a voice that spoke with the authority of a maker, not the anxiety of a challenger.
02 — The insight
"We make diamonds" — three words that change the category
The most important creative decision on this project wasn’t a logo or a color palette. It was a line. “We make diamonds.” Three words that flip the entire category framing, away from “lab-grown as substitute” and toward “lab-grown as mastery.” It’s not a compromise. It’s a craft. Not mined by chance. Made with intention.
That line did something most luxury jewelry copy doesn’t: it led with the verb. Not the stone, not the feeling, not the occasion. The act of making. And because Little Switzerland is genuinely vertical, growing, cutting, polishing, setting, and selling, the claim is not just marketing language. It’s a factual statement that no mined-diamond competitor can make. The entire brand was built to prove it across every surface it touches.
03 — The build
Every surface as a proof point
A brand built on a three-word thesis has to earn that claim everywhere it shows up, especially in a luxury context where customers hold the packaging, carry the bag, and hand the brochure to someone they love. WHQ built the Engrace system to be precise at every scale.
The mark, the Spark, embodies the geometry of a perfectly cut diamond: the facets, the fire, the moment of light hitting a stone. Used alongside a lowercase wordmark whose fine thicks and thins signal refinement without stiffness, it works as a foil stamp on a gift box, an embroidered badge on a pouch, a dimensional sign above a boutique entrance, and a social ad running on a phone screen at 9 AM. The packaging architecture, gift boxes, shopping bags, pouches, tape, was designed to make unboxing feel like part of the jewelry itself. The in-store brochure told the “We make diamonds” story in five proof-point chapters, designed for a customer who picks it up in St. Thomas and finishes it on the plane home. Campaign imagery and social creative extended the identity across paid and organic channels, each frame built around the same thesis: a maker’s confidence, not a challenger’s apology.
The result
Engrace launched with a brand system capable of introducing a new product category to a luxury retail audience across the Caribbean and beyond, online, in-store, in the cruise terminal, and at trade. The brand is actively selling through Little Switzerland’s retail network and e-commerce platform, carried into an expanding footprint including the Vegas boutique. A three-word line that started as a positioning decision now anchors a complete brand system, one that doesn’t explain what lab-grown means. It just proves, in every detail, what making a diamond looks like.
